New for 2026 is the “Outlander” our take on the do it all North American field knife.  It has a 4.6" cutting edge, sabre ground 3.5mm A2 carbon tool steel, a firm favorite of makers and users across the pond in the states and Canada.

You asked and we listened, we’ve been messaged recently with requests for a new steel Choice, specifically a carbon tool steel. Those that know me know I’m not a fan of 01 tool steel and have never offered it for various reasons too long to go in to here, however A2 just seems to tick a lot of boxes such as edge holding, a little patina resistance and toughness. A2 is a carbon tool steel so it will rust if not looked after, however it is actually quite well regarded for patina resistance overall in the knife community, obviously it’s no stainless steel but it does offer a little in that department due to the chromium content in the steel. Boasting the qualities of a carbon steel as well such as toughness and ease of sharpening, we know this steel will be received well, for this reason we are running the rockwell hardness at 59HRC which we find a bit of a sweet spot for edge holding and toughness trade off.

In typical York Knife style this one has been made even more rugged and capable of meeting hard use head on by the choice of material, ultimately giving you more peace of mind. We've made this one super grippy by grinding our “Ragnar-Rock” pattern in to the black and olive coloured Micarta which not only makes it super comfy and tactile but aids use in multiple grips, a win win.

The Multi-Cam kydex sheath can be made right or left handed simply by swapping the belt clip over and it can be mounted horizontal tap or vertical for a whole multitude of carry options.

We've laser tattooed our “Fight or Die” skull and crossed arrows in to the blade face and wrote in the underside of the spine one of our favourite sayings “No one is coming to save you” which fully encapsulates the self reliance and sufficiency vibe that we hold close to our hearts.

A tough yet slicey edge as you would expect from a sabre grind,  great for a whole host of jobs out in the field, battening small logs, slicing food, game prep, fire starting and the list goes on.  The Micarta scales are end of the world tough which makes an awesome material to put on a "user", our spines are also left sharp to aid in scraping Birch bark for tinder and ferro rods for fire lighting.

FAQs

PAYMENT

Once the knife is bought we complete with a quick I.D check to confirm you are over 18 years old, to keep us legal with the current laws around the sale of knives over the internet.

GUARANTEE

Our knives come with a common sense guarantee, covering craftsmanship and materials. This does not cover abuse or general wear and tear, for example, over time knives get dull and need basic sharpening and maintenance, carbon steel knives can pick up patina or rust if put away wet, left in damp atmospheres or generally neglected.

All of our knives are made by hand and as such none are perfect, if you look hard enough and study the knife intently, you may find the odd light scratch or blemish picked up in the making process. We call this character and it's what makes your knife yours, it will in fact pick up much worse over a short period of time through normal use and begin to tell its own story.
